In honor of the Golden Toad, an extinct species that was once abundant in the elfin cloud forest near Montenegro, Costa Rica. The last sighting was a single male seen on May 15, 1989. The Golden Toad has sadly become the “poster child” for the crisis in amphibian decline.
This sculpture embodies the spirit of protection for all beings and the intricate connections between them; wood and water and animal and air.
